Contains illustrative newspaper clipping from Providence Journal, Oct. 26, 1941. Carbon copy of typescript; photocopy of newsprint. The asylum, an institution for the benefit of the poor, was a legacy of Ebenezer Knight Dexter to Providence. It was located within the stone walls along Hope St., Lloyd and Arlington avenues on the east side of Providence.
